Review: personal-planner.co.uk

In 2008 I found the perfect diary.  I was working in WH Smith and when unpacking the delivery found the perfect mid-year beauty.  It was a great size for my hand bang and had a timetable lay out that suited my uni class/ part time working hours schedule.  It was the best £10 I ever spent and the beginning of my obsession with stationery.
No one can spend as much time browsing in a stationary shop as I can, but despite all the browsing I have never found a perfect diary like the one of 2008.  There have been imitators but they have never been quite right.
Sometimes I wouldn't find a diary and I would be forced to purchase a sub standard make-do one.  However by the time I would have resigned to buy my rubbish imitator it would already be February and I would have a blank month of January in my diary, with nothing written in it.  This is not ok.  So I would then have to go through January and fill in all the days I have appointments or birthdays to make it look used.  And of course I would have to fill these details in with different coloured pens so it didn't look like it had all been written in the one sitting.  All totally normal behaviour.  Ahem.
Then I found www.personal-planner.co.uk.  This website allows you to design your own diary from start to finish.  You can choose the size,  customise the cover design and choose the inner layout to suit your needs.
Needless to say I agonised over the perfect combination for hours.  Because I am a MASSIVE GEEK.

So I choose the medium sized planner, perfect handbag size and picked one of the designs from the website fort he front cover.
For the inner design I could choose the day layout, boarder design and add from a choice of extra features.  I added 'to-do' list as well as a lined section to add any notes or reminders for the week.  I also added a box to record the amount of hours I worked each day.  there is also the option to add in any personalised dates.  And the best bit?  I could choose the month that I wanted my diary start, saving the empty month dilemma - hurrah!

And look at this lovely week - this was last week, nothing written in for the whole 7 days as I was on my holidays.

You then have a choice of features to insert into the back of your diary.  There are options such as personalised address list, manuscript, lined or squared paper.  I choose blank pages for lists and doodles as well as.....

yes, that is a colouring in section.  Life complete.

I was offered a free personal planner in exchange for an honest review.  Honest opinion - these things are BLOODY BRILLIANT.  In fact I bought another one for my loveliest of friends Laura.  Isn't she the prettiest thing??

Laura is getting married next year and I was able to create a planner for her to count down to the wedding, I added sections for her to record her exercise sessions and plan her dinners for the week as she is on a wedding dress health kick.  I also added a personalised address section for all her wedding contacts and plenty of space for to-do lists.  I know that the lead up to the big day can be stressful so hopefully this wee diary will be the perfect organiser to keep her on track.  100 bridesmaid points.

If you want to design your own planner visit www.personal-planner.co.uk.  At the moment they have a (stupidly addictive) game 'Flappy Planner' (does that name make anyone else giggle??) with the opportunity to win great discounts on your purchase.  My advice for making the perfect planner? Set aside plenty of time, the website is easily navigated and quick to use but if you are anything like me you will spend lots of time trying out different combinations to create the ultimate planner.
